Society Sense: The promises

Society sense is about honest people keeping their promises. It is sad to see that such is not the truth but just a wall painting hanging over our heads ready to strike the innocent.

It has been a long time since I wrote a blog post. With the heightened spirits all over the country, you can bet that it is definitely big news season. all the rants about Ann Waiguru but still the big boys have cast a blind eye upon her. If she thinks she is right then definitely she is right, so they think. Man eat man is the society sense.

I came across this piece of literature while sorting my papers in my office. I had sent it to a friend during my freshman year in college but kept a copy. I do not remember giving it a title but that friend (Kevin Mbeya) suggested that we call it "Society Sense". Read and leave comments below.

Society Sense 2013 to date
Every time tears well up my eyes but they can’t fall on the ground
Because as soon as they appear I wipe them out
When a man cries all of you stand and stare, why? Reputation?
Who would fight for the boy child in these days of equal inequality?
Street urchins are all over the streets of Nairobi like maggots.
No one cares because you call them the rejects of the society
Rejects of the society huh? Because you can’t take up your social responsibility?

Even a true patriot of this country has doubts about our government
You promised us jobs in the name of unemployment opportunities
So now is retrenchment the new way of creating the so-called jobs?
I know the people’s watchman is dead but trust means big brother is watching
A five-year term is such a short time and soon we will catch up with you

True Mwananchi: Society Sense

Kill them all and let them die is the pigs’ motto
Hungry hyenas want to see poor peaceful citizens at war
I must be crazy but somebody is insane fighting a neighbour taking refuge
Put yourself right in their shoes and you would know how it feels like being on the run
Somebody must have lost senses especially common sense which is uncommonly rare

  1. Great post Terrence. Its baffling that Waiguru has refused to step aside to allow for investigation as other c.s s have done. However I strongly believe it has more to do with her gender. Our politicians turn a blind eye to the wrong doing of those close to them. But so true. No honesty
